Cream Cheese Frosting for Buns

Updated: Aug 11, 2022

Cream Cheese Frosting is essential when it comes to making Cinnamon Buns (recipe found here). This type of cream cheese frosting is different from the ones we use from cakes though, this type of frosting runs a little bit more loose and once it touches the hot cinnamon buns, they melt even more and covers the whole buns.

This is an easy recipe that you can also put in different types of buns that you would like to!

  • Shelf life, when put in the fridge, can last to up to 10 days.

  • In an air tight container in the fridge.

Cream Cheese Frosting for Buns

Serves: One (1) 16-Pieces of Cinnamon Buns

❑ 1 1/4 Cup of Confectioner's Sugar (Powdered Sugar)

❑ 1 tsp Vanilla Extract

❑ 2-4 tbsp of Milk

STEP 1: Cream your Cream Cheese with 1/2 Cup of Powdered Sugar.

STEP 2: Once well incorporated, add the other amount of powdered sugar gradually.

STEP 3: Add the vanilla extract and milk to the mixture. Make sure there's no lump.

NOTE: If you want a runnier frosting for your buns, add until 4 tbsp of milk but if you want it less runny, add only 2 tbsp of milk.
